I am progressively more disgusted with the way healthcare reform is going.

I've written before to say that I supported the public option.

Anyway, the right has now apparently "won," although they didn't support the bill before, and they still don't support the bill, so how they won anything is beyond me!

Since the right is so good at manipulating the system without GIVING anything in return, or the left is so good at giving in to nothing, let's do some more...

I know, sorry, it goes against my representative's dedication to the health care companies that keep them fat and happy, and at the expense of the people who vote for you, but this healthcare "reform" is turning into a joke.

If this is the garbage that we haven, then TAKE OUT THE PERSONAL MANDATE, STOP PROTECTING THE INDUSTRY, and pass the bill.
The mandate is a government-driven transfer of money from private and public pockets to insurance companies.
The fact that insurance companies are able to pro-rate cost based on risk WHILE STILL FORCING EVERYONE TO PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCT IS A JOKE.
No one is representing PEOPLE, SICK PEOPLE, DESPERATE PEOPLE.
The only ones getting representation is the insurance industry.
THE ONLY REASON FOR THIS MANDATE IS TO PAD THE POCKETS OF INSURANCE COMPANIES WITH ANOTHER GOVERNMENT HANDOUT.
THIS IS NOT WHAT THE RIGHT STANDS FOR.  I THOUGHT THEY STOOD FOR FREE MARKETS.  There is NOTHING free about this market, except the help the industry is getting from the goverment.

I know the health care companies will whine and scream when you try to take away their sugary pacifier, but I've gotten squat of what I wanted out of this healthcare bill, so I'll really be upset if you give the insurance companies EVERYTHING they want.

And if they won't let you alone when you try to do your job and represent me, then screw them and put in that public option again.

I'm desperately clinging to whatever humor I can find in this situation as I digest what has become of "representative" government that doesn't represent me at all, but I've just about lost it.
